A couple of loan spells then followed at Macclesfield Town and Alfreton Town with a further 40 appearances for Macclesfield following between 2013 and 2014.

He then went on to play for FC Halifax Town, Newport County, where he finished the season’s top scorer in 2015/16, and Inverness Caledonian Thistle among others before a return to Chesterfield to play another 58 games and 23 goals in a three year spell.

More recently, Boden has turned out for Boreham Wood, York City, Buxton and Matlock Town before arriving at the SL2 Rail Stadium this summer.

Done Deal - Scott with Manager Chris Woodhead and their families

Chris Woodhead is relishing the chance to work with such an experienced player, “When the opportunity came up to speak to Scott, we had to act quick as we knew there would be several interested parties. We spoke to him about the club and the direction we wanted to go in and he was impressed with everything we said. He was impressed with the ethos of the club and the facilities here at the SL2 Rail Stadium and I am delighted to secure his signature and can’t wait to get him into training ready for the game against Goole on Saturday afternoon.”

“This signing will turn heads, he knows Chappo (Adam Chapman) well from their time at Newport and he lives relatively local. He’s got plenty of experience at a much higher level and I am sure the supporters will enjoy watching him in action in the surroundings of the redeveloped ground.”
