Retford FC Unveils Golden Badge to Mark 10th Anniversary

Retford FC is celebrating a decade of football excellence and community spirit with a striking new badge for the upcoming season. This special edition badge, rendered in shimmering gold, carries the proud Latin phrase: “Fortis Solum, Fortior Una”, which translates to “Strong Alone, Stronger Together.”

Founded ten years ago, Retford FC has grown to become a cornerstone of local football, bringing together players, fans, and the wider community. The club’s achievements over the past decade have been shown their commitment to nurturing talent and community involvement.

The newly unveiled badge is a symbol of both history and future ambitions. The golden hue represents the club’s first decade of resilience and success, while the Latin motto embodies the spirit that has guided them throughout. “Fortis Solum, Fortior Una” speaks not only to the unity of the squad on the pitch but also to the strong ties between all levels of the club, its supporters and the local community.

The 10th-anniversary celebrations will include community events, the launch of a limited-edition kit featuring the new badge and a limited edition pin badge.

Club Chairman, Chris Woodhead, expressed the significance of this milestone:

“Our 10th anniversary isn’t just about looking back—it’s about recognising the strength we’ve built together and carrying that forward. Our junior section is stronger than ever and continues to expand with new teams being formed and we really do still believe that being together as one club only makes us stronger. The new badge is a proud marker of what we’ve achieved, and what we will continue to strive for.”

“We will have a new kit with some exciting new sponsors and this will have the anniversary badge included. We also have some great events coming up including a big birthday bash with music and activities and other things coming up throughout the season to celebrate our anniversary.”

The club confirmed in the week that the first supporter to wear Retford FC’s brand new 2025/26 anniversary strip will be 11-year-old India Bell, who has been specially chosen by the management team in recognition of her dedicated support.

A regular at the SL2 Rail Stadium, India is rarely absent on matchdays and is a familiar face at away games, always cheering the team on with pride and passion.

Chris Woodhead said, “India loves to come and watch the lads play. She’s one of the main matchday constants and I know, especially at home, I can glance across and see her supporting the team.”

As a player in Retford’s girls under-13 team, India is part of the club both on and off the pitch. “She has Retford FC running through her veins,” Chris added. “The management team and the players really do appreciate her support and we wanted to acknowledge this by making her the first to own the new anniversary kit.”

India will be presented with the shirt at a home game during pre-season. Her dedication reflects the spirit and ethos of the club, and this small gesture is a genuine thank you from everyone at Retford FC.

The players are now back in pre-season training and with both old faces and new, the camp are looking very positive towards the season ahead. Pre season games see some tough opponents and then the season will start at the end of July with one added club to the division as the league confirmed the addition of Pinchbeck United at the AGM last weekend. The club have high hopes of making their mark in the league and continuing to build on both last season and the past decade’s momentum.
