There’s been a bit of a reshuffle in the Retford FC backroom as Jake Scott steps down from his role as Assistant Manager to focus on his flourishing social media career. Scott, whose online presence has become a major focus, is moving away from the intense demands of management, though he’ll remain part of the club as a coach, lending his support to the squad.
Stepping into the Assistant Manager role is Adam Chapman, a familiar face to the squad and fans alike. While an injury has kept him sidelined so far this season, limiting his on-field appearances, Chapman has been close to the action and knows the squad inside out. He’s set to be in place for the upcoming clash against Southwell City on Saturday.
Retford FC’s Chris Woodhead offered his thanks to Jake for his dedication so far this season, saying, “I’d like to thank Jake for all he has done so far this season but I understand his decision to focus on his online pursuits. He still has a big role to play for the club and he will continue to push us on to success.”
Bringing in Chapman was a straightforward decision for Woodhead, who shares a long history with him. “It was an obvious choice to bring Chappo in to work alongside me. I’ve grown up with him in Clarborough and we have a long-term friendship. He’s the right fit and an instant replacement for Jake,” Woodhead said. “Not only can he affect games from the sidelines, but once he’s fit again, it’ll be like signing a new player.”
