There will be a new face on the bench for Tuesday’s game against Staveley Miners Welfare with the arrival of Dan Barber who joins the club as Head Physio.
Dan arrives at the club after a long and successful time at Harworth Colliery where he has spent six years as their Physio and has supported and nurtured many sports therapy students as part of their development while in the role.
He was a well respected member of the club, winning a special recognition award last season, and his departure will leave a big gap in their first team set-up.
However, Harworth's loss is Retford’s gain as he comes in to work as Head Physio with the support of Tom Armstrong who continues in the role on a part-time basis.
Chris Woodhead said, “I’ve known Dan for a number of years and I know he’s been looking for a new challenge so the opportunity to bring him in was too good to miss. He’s been a great servant to Harworth for a number of years and some of our lads who have worked with him in the past all have good things to say about him. I’d like to welcome him to the club.”
